Sliding Door Design Options

Personalise your Anglian sliding patio door with a range of handle
colours, door colours and glass options.

Colour options

Aluminium patio doors come in over 200 RAL colours* and our uPVC patio doors come in a range of handpicked colours. Dual colour options are available in our most popular patio door colours, like anthracite grey, cream and sage green. This means you can choose one colour for the interior door frame and another for the exterior.

*RAL is a colour matching system that defines colours for paint, coatings and plastics.

Door Handles

Sliding patio door handles are coated with a durable Hardex finish to withstand daily use. Select from chrome, classic black or timeless white on our aluminium patio doors, and chrome, black, white or gold handles on our uPVC patio doors.

Security

Sliding doors are fitted with a strong, multi-point locking system, an anti-lift device and Yale cylinder lock. The lock is anti-snap, anti-pick, anti-bump and anti-drill locking mechanism is designed to keep intruders away.

Glass options

Sliding patio doors are fitted with toughened, double glazed glass. There’s a beautiful choice of glass effects to choose from, including etched glass, Georgian bars and obscured privacy glass – perfect if you use your patio door as an entrance door.

Advantages of Sliding Doors

Create More Space

Unlike French doors which swing outwards, patio doors are ideal for small spaces where having a sliding door creates more space to position your furniture. Patio doors slide left and right on tracks within the frame, which makes them perfect to create a large opening to your garden.

Built to be Robust

Aluminium patio doors are a slim, low maintenance door manufactured from a durable, warp resistant aluminium alloy then powder coated in a colour of your choice. uPVC patio doors are a cost-effective and popular choice for those seeking a durable and long-lasting door. Both materials last the test of time if well maintained.

Save on Energy

The large panes of glass in sliding patio doors help you cut down on your monthly energy bills. When light from the sun shines into your home, there’s no need to turn on the light and you also gain the sun’s natural heat. Then, when the weather is warm, open your patio doors and let the breeze flow throughout your home – without the need for a door stop to prevent the door from slamming.

FAQ’s

What colours are available for front doors?

At Everest, we offer a beautiful range of colours and natural woodgrain finishes, so there is a perfect colour to suit every property. Colours range from classic black through to more contemporary colours such as beach pebble to help you create a stylish statement entrance to your home.

Are front doors with glass safe?

Yes glass doors are safe, the glass used in Everest glazed doors are fitted with 6.8mm laminated glass as standard, which makes breaking the glass incredibly difficult. Our laminated security glass surpasses every security standard with the extra layer of laminate holding the shards in place should the glass break and ensuring there is no hole left for an intruder to pass through.

Do I need planning permission to change my front door?

You can change the front door of your property without needing planning approval. However, it is always advisable to speak to your local authority, as there may be conditions attached to previous permissions or covenants covering what you can and cannot do.

How much do doors cost?

A large number of variables influence the price of a door including material, construction, if locks and hardware have been added and if the installation is included. The cheapest doors are sold as basic slabs – just the door leaf with no finish or hardware added. All M.R.Windows front doors are sold as door sets that come pre-assembled with the frame locks and all hardware in place and we then include the cost of installation.

Do front doors need to be fire resistant?

As long as the front door for a house is a direct route to the outside it doesn’t need to be fire rated. But, this can be dependent on the proximity of the boundary and the distance of adjacent buildings. Apartments, flats and properties accessed through a common area must have fire rated front doors to stop the spread of fire between properties. They must also have a thumb-operated lock on the inside of the door for means of escape.
